Bringing Joy & Warmth to Nursing Home Residents

A simple act of kindness, stitched with care and given with purpose.
We create and distribute quilts to nursing homes, hospice care, and memory impaired facilities.

Our Mission

Alabaster Quilt Ministry is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that creates and distributes quilts to nursing homes, hospice care, and memory impaired facilities.  The volunteers at AQM are dedicated to covering the world with God’s love, one quilt at a time.
“And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’”
Matthew 25:40

Our Ministry's Beginning

Back in the 1960s, there was a father and mother in New York who taught their three girls at an early age to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation…” (Mark 16:15), which included those in their own backyard.
The girls ministered to their elderly neighbors by sweeping their neighbors’ sidewalks, shoveling snow, moving trash cans, and anything else that was needed.  This gave them a love for the elderly.  Since then, the middle daughter, Lori Ann, felt God was leading her to use her quilting skills to minister to residents in nursing homes, memory impaired facilities, and hospice care facilities.

A Legacy of Love & Service

As more people expressed interest in helping her, Lori Ann created Alabaster Quilt Ministry (AQM).  In July 2019, Lori Ann and her husband Nick moved from New York to Cary, NC.
By God’s grace, AQM has grown and now produces more than 100 bed-sized quilts annually. Each quilt has been prayed over and has carefully selected verses handwritten on the back to encourage and show them God’s love.
